“Great Careers in 2 Years” approaches higher education in a unique and innovative way that will save students and their families a significant amount of money. For many years, students received a two-year degree that provided entrance into the professional field of their choice. It’s only been in the recent past that the push for costly four-year degrees have been seen as the pinnacle of success.

To get a top-rated job, students must attain a degree, but to obtain that degree, 86 percent can’t afford college unless they borrow. It’s a situation that’s leading to defaults on student loans and a generation of college-educated adults that begin their professional life mired in debt. According to The College Board®, the average debt is over $27,000 a year and that cost rises to $119,400 for private college. By comparison, a two-year college costs $2,713 a year for tuition.

Graduates can’t find employment in the current economy and they’re refusing to settle for low-paying jobs that don’t provide enough income to live on. Young adults are moving home in droves to live with their parents to save money. Danzig and Mutulu have created a guide that will change that.

Readers will learn how a two-year associate degree can open the door to professional success and financial freedom, at a fraction of the anticipated cost in tuition. There are many excellent jobs in challenging and entertaining fields that require a two-year degree. Danzig and Mutulu show students how to find excellent two-year colleges and ensure that credits transfer properly for those who opt to pursue a four-year degree.

There is an education crisis today. College graduates can’t find jobs that pay enough to cover their student loans. The International Society for Applied Education (ISAE) is working to change that.

Fort Lauderdale, FL

May 2010 ended with the highest unemployment figures on record for young college graduates since 1983. This fact, coupled with the rising costs of higher education, has caused the International Society for Applied Education (ISAE) to take notice – and to intervene. The Society has developed a website devoted to helping college graduates get started in their professional fields.

ISAE’s website offers a wide range of helpful information. Using links to federal aid applications and interviewing tips websites, college students will find tools designed to assist them in their pursuit of gaining a higher education and beginning a professional career. Society members are also invited to submit and review feature articles devoted to higher education worldwide.

Issues affecting higher education around the world are also featured on ISAE’s website. Thought-provoking content on three-year degree programs, the Bologna Accord, and educational policies are regularly reviewed.

To assist community college graduates in their search for employment, ISAE will be distributing a book free of charge through career placement offices of select community colleges. This book, entitled How to Make the Most of Your Associates Degree: The Ultimate Guide to Fame and Fortune in the Real World, was written by Sheila Danzig, an education authority. If you would like your community college to offer the book free to their students contact ISAE at www.AppliedEducationSociety.org

The information available on the Society’s website is designed to enhance interviewing skills, maximize financial assistance, or otherwise optimize a college graduate’s chances of securing his or her first professional position. Unlike this literature, however, Danzig’s book is designed to encourage graduates to gain media recognition to enhance their chances of being remembered – and hired.

Society members are hopeful that Danzig’s book, together with the extensive education resources available on the ISAE website, will help to reduce employment rates among young adult college graduates over the coming months. As economic issues continue to affect job markets worldwide, graduates must become more educated, and more resourceful, in order to gain a start in their professional careers.

To learn more about becoming a member of ISAE, contact the society at the website www.AppliedEducationSociety.org. There is no charge to join, and membership is open to students, college graduates, educators, and other persons interested in higher education issues.

“I didn’t quite understand how this would apply to me but I felt I had nothing to lose since I could not find a job. It took two weeks for me to get a small article in the news. After job hunting for several months, I attached the article to my resume. The next week I got two callbacks and a job offer. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

“What a great idea to apply the same techniques that big companies use to help recent graduates get jobs. Even though I was up against others with 4 year degrees and graduate work, I was just offered a job. It was clear in the interview that the company was very interested in the article about me.”

“… I was not only accepted into the law school of my choice but at orientation they mentioned me and the game I created that was featured in the article that I attached to my application.”
